With these fun hotels, you and your dog will feel like guests of honor!

As more and more hotels allow your dog to stay with you, a growing number of unique places are offering a menu of vacation treats for you and your friend, from personalized dog bowls to private beaches. Here are five great hotels across the country. Before you head out, be sure to call ahead to check the hotel's rates and policies.

Stanford Inn By The Sea
44850 Comptche Ukiah Road
Mendocino, CA, 800-331-8884
www.stanfordinn.com
Referred to as the "best kept secret in Mendocino" by the Oakland Tribune, this inn is situated on 10 acres overlooking Mendocino Bay—just across the bridge from a dog-friendly beach. Guests are welcomed by the hotel's greeting staff: Murphy, a black Labrador Retriever, and Gypsy, a German Shepherd mix, who are more than happy to make sure each dog-friendly guest room is equipped with a welcoming treat, food and water bowls, dog sheets, and toys for returning guests!

White Gate Court
76010 Overseas Highway
Islamorada, FL, 305-664-4136
www.whitegatecourt.com
This Florida Keys resort takes the term dog friendly to a new level. Not only will you and
your dog receive plenty of blankets and towels for the beach when you arrive—your pooch also gets a special welcoming belly rub and hug from one of the friendly staffers. After you and your dog swim at the private beach, stroll the grounds … no leash required here!

Hotel Teatro

Denver, CO, 303-228-1100
www.hotelteatro.com
A star-studded getaway may be the ticket for you and your playful friend. This hotel has played host to numerous celebrities and their dogs, and with a basket of toys presented to your dog on arrival, it's no wonder why. Each dog-friendly guest room or suite features bone-shaped food and water bowls, water on ice, treats, and souvenir dog tags. During your stay, the concierge will gladly arrange for a canine massage for your best friend.

Loews Regency Hotel
540 Park Ave. (at 61st Street)
New York, NY, 212-759-4100
www.loewshotels.com/regency
This hotel believes all dogs are VIPs (Very Important Pets). Want to stay in to eat? No problem. They offer room service, food and water bowls, and placemats.

Kimpton's Hotel Monaco in Portland
506 SW Washington (at 5th Avenue)
Portland, OR, 503-222-0001
www.monaco-portland.com
It's only fitting that one of the most dog-friendly cities is home to one of the most uniquely dog-friendly hotels. At Hotel Monaco, you and your dog will be welcomed by the director of pet services—Penny, a Labrador Retriever—and will be presented with the Dog Lover's Companion to the Pacific Northwest book for in-room use, complete with an urban map of pet-friendly micro-breweries, hiking trails, and restaurants in the city.
