Feel Like $1 Million for Free
De-clutter Your Home...and Your Mind -- My wife has been on a roll lately with the "spring cleaning." Must admit, more trash at the curb does make things nicer in the house.

Our biggest stress IS the economy right now. We've taken our extra money to put toward our children going to private school. Now that things have gotten much tighter, we're looking for more ways to cut back. We're sharing that load but what a load it is.

Those are wonderful suggestions! My personal favorite is the 15 minutes soaking in the bathtub, but for me it's a shower. It's a chance for me to let all the cares of the day wash away. Thanks, Kathryn, for a great "to do" list!

When I was in high school, I had a teacher that encouraged us to keep a journal. Some of it was just to write down what we did or thought that day. But we were also supposed to write down one positive thing that happened. It could be as simple as someone holding the door for us, or getting a compliment on our shirt. But we needed to document that for those time when we felt alone, depressed, stressed, whatever. We could just read back over the last entries and see that there are good things in our lives. I think it's especially important - and much easier - for parents to do that. My wife and I exchange emails about something cute/funny our kids did. It can be something as simple as a slobbery kiss, or maybe a silly picture that our little Da Vinci has drawn for us. But those little light-hearted moments keep us going.

These are all great suggestions! I love the concept of feeling good on the inside. However, about that morning coffee run...I would be MISERABLE if I had to give that up. It's the only thing that gets me out of bed in morning. Oh well...can't be perfect.

One of the things that I found is a good de-stressor is getting online when I have a spare minute. Spare minute being the key phrase. Still, posting photos of my kids, responding to my friends posts, talking about current issues all are relaxing for me and give me a good escape just when I need it.

she will never stress over the down economy! her house is worth 4 million dollars, she has 10 cars--one for each kid even though most aren't old enough to drive! Her kids get expensive facials, best clothes. I am so sick of her telling the little people how to live from her castle on high.
