Grilled Cheese Costume
This costume was inspired by the only food my picky twenty month old would eat. The custome itself was as easy to make as a grilled cheese sandwich.
Prep Time: 25 minutes
Costume Materials
- 1 weather resistant outdoor foam cushion (available at any craft store)
- 1 1/2 yards yellow felt
- hot glue gun, or tacky glue
- 1 grill butane lighter or, 1 culinary butane torch
- scissors
- knife
- Use knife to cut foam cushion in half to form two triangles. Put triangles together to figure out which side will be the outside and which side will be the inside of the sandwich... mark the outside.
- This step needs to be done outdoors. Use the butane lighter to burn the cushion on the marked side. You will need to burn one portion at the time and blow it out to control the area. Allow cushion to cool, 5 minutes.
- Lay out felt. Arrange cushions on felt leaving 5 1/2 inches inbetween cushions.
- Hot glue cushions into place.
- Cut two slits in a + shape between cushions to slide over childs head.
- either cut or fold and glue underneath the extra yellow felt.
