Little Red Riding Hood Costume
My daughter Elly and I hit the thrift store and came across everything we needed for the Perfect "Little Red Ridinghood" costume all for under $7.00 A quick sew here and there and away she'll go trick-or-treating, all while remaining on the path,and avoiding any wolfs!
Prep Time: 30 min. (max)Costume Materials
- Dress (with red in it)
- Red hooded zipup sweatshirt a couple sizes to large
- White cording, or ribbon
- A woven basket (from your kitchen?)
- A pair of slip on shoes, or boots.
- We made the perfect "Little Red Riding Hood" dress for only $3.99.
- I also picked up a red zip up hooded sweatshirt which was about three sizes to large, and only $2.99 to make the cape.
- I cut the under-arm seam of the sweatshirt and flattened it sewing the edges to the cut side of the seam, to make more of a full cape, I then just added white cording, around the neck, leaving enough at the ends to tie around the neck.
- This costume (including time in the thrift store) took about 45 minutes to make.
- She slipped on a pair of boots she already had, we pulled a basket off of the shelf and she is ready to hit the streets.
