Halloween Hair and Makeup Tips: "Regis and Kelly" Pros Tell All!
Regis and Kelly "Thriller" Production Number
MICHELLE: For Kelly I used a ghoul makeup kit straight from the Halloween shop. It has several shades of muted blues, grays, greens, browns, and black. First I gave zombie Kelly a very pale foundation ... the lightest ivory color I have in my kit. Then I hollowed out her cheeks with the grays and blues. I lined her eyes with black cream liner and smudged it out until the eyes looked concave. After contouring the nose with gray and brown, I then added a silver shimmer all over. Her lips were lined and filled in with a neutral lip liner then we added the shimmer onto her lips. Special colored contacts were also applied to her eyes to finish this creepy zombie look. (Special contacts can be purchased online and at Halloween specialty stores.)
DIANE: For "Thriller," I back-combed Kelly's entire head and then used a crimping iron to achieve that wavy look. I then randomly selected pieces of hair and tied them in a high ponytail. This was a heavily hair-sprayed style. For Regis I used a punk-rock, brown wig for that werewolf coif.
