Halloween Door Decorations

Greet trick-or-treaters with a ghoulishly great Halloween door craft made from a few items you probably already have around the house.

You'll need:

Monster Door
  • 2 Paper Plates
  • Green or Purple Crepe Paper
  • A Glass
  • Black Marker
  • Duct Tape
  • Scissors
Spider Door
  • 1 Paper Plate
  • Green or Purple Crepe Paper
  • 1 Pack of Giant Black Chenille Stems
  • Glue
  • Googly Eyes
  • Duct Tape

Instructions:

Monster Door

  1. Step 1Draw a circle on a paper plate by outlining a glass.

  2. Step 2Fill in the circle using a black marker. Now you have an eye. Repeat.

  3. Step 3Cut 15-20 (depending on your door size) 12" strips of crepe paper.

  4. Step 4Measure the width of your door and lay a strip of duct tape that size on the floor with the sticky side up. Now add your crepe paper strips.

  5. Stick the "hair" on the door. You might place it closer to the middle of the door so little people can get the full effect of the funny monster.

  6. Step 6Stick eyes on the door with duct tape. Then add a few strips of tape for eyebrows. Make a mouth with one long strip and 4 small ones.
Spider Door

  1. Step 1Rip off small pieces of crepe paper, crinkle them and glue to the plate until the entire plate is covered. This is a great activity for little ones!

  2. Step 2Use tape to stick on googly eyes.

  3. Step 3Cut 6 equal length pieces of chenille stems and tape them to the back of the plate. Now you have your spider.

  4. Step 4Use strips of duct tape to make several octagons on the door to make the spider's web.

  5. Step 5Attach the spider with more tape and you're finished!
