Most Unique Halloween Costumes

I like to make unique costumes for my children & this just seemed like a great idea! It was a big hit at town events & the school parade!

Costume Instructions

Prep Time: 3 days

Costume Materials
1 solid white twin flat bed sheet
Several sheets of colored felt (for letters in toothpaste name)
1 foam chair cushion
1 white bucket-type hat
2 sheets of white cardstock paper
plywood piece approximately 4' long x 6" wide
sand paper
old scrub brush
blue spray paint
white spray paint
hot glue gun
sewing machine & thread
wood glue
face paint

Costume Instructions
Depending on child's size, cut an area of the sheet that will wrap around child "tube shape" from the white sheet with opening in back. Hem edges that will meet in back & line with velcro closure from top to bottom hem. Finish bottom hem.

For neck area I trimmed foam chair cushion into donut shape with one side open and covered this with some fabric from sheet. Attach to tube aligning opening with back velcro seam of tube.

Cut letters from felt pieces, I enlarged letters on computer to largest font for patterns. Sew letters to front of tube.

Make toothpaste cap with white bucket hat. Fold sheets of white cardstock into accordion and unfold. Apply around bucket hat with hot glue. Trim to size.

Make toothbrush with plywood piece - cut out a toothbrush shape, sand it, and spray paint blue. Spray old scrub brush with white spray paint. After they are dryed, attach scrub brush to toothbrush shape with wood glue. Allow sufficient drying time.

Apply face paint in vertical stripes on child's face.
