Costume Instructions
The hardest part of the costume was finding something for the "shell". My husband found a remnant of 3/8" hard foam from the Foam Factory near us. Then we took our glass table top and traced it to form the round shell. We then cut arm holes it. The "ingredients" are made from felt. I bought lime green, gold, red and brown felt by the yard. I cut the lime green into scalloped circles to make the lettuce. I cut strips of the gold for the cheese. My husband took soft foam and cut it into cubes and he hot glued the red felt around them for tomatoes. The brown was cut into a large strip that was attached to cover a rectangular leftover piece of the shell foam for the beef. I then sewed all of the toppings onto the brown. We left a strip of brown felt to go over Cruz's neck and then pinned it in the back of him. The shell goes on like a coat and ties under the beef with a ribbon ran around the back of the shell and thru slits in sides. The hat is made from a brown felt cicle with a piece of lettuce, to pieces of cheese and a tomato on top. It is fastened with an elastic chin strap.
