Costume Instructions
Prep Time: Weeks! I couldn't stop!
Costume Materials
I created and printed materials on my computer (i.e. fake money, grocery list, candy wrappers), used household toys and accessories and decorated her stroller with old fabric. I used an old remote control, a toy phone, costume jewelry, bath accessories, cleaning accessories and cooking toys. I bought the wig, robe and slippers to complete her look!
Costume Instructions
First, I put an old "changing table" cover on the stroller (to make it look more like a couch) and just cut holes in it where the handles are. Using her stroller as a base, I glued and hung and safety-pinned as many items around her as possible that were stereotypical of a stay at home mom. You could use anything in your household - from utensils, cooking and cleaning supplies to tv accessories. Again, I printed out fake money and grocery lists on my computer for added effect. I used an old pillow for a "foot rest" and attached it to the stroller with safety pins and glue. The costume iteself is simple (and warm!) because she's so young (9 months), so the stroller has the bulk of decoration. Oh - also, I sewed a baby cap inside the wig to make it fit better and reduce itchiness! Really, once I got the idea rolling, this was an easy costume to put together!
