"Mad Scientist and Monster Piggyback Ride Costume"

2 pairs of shoes (or 1 pair of shoes and 1 pair of boots)

Costume Instructions
Dress your child in dark colored pants and dress shirt with tie. They can put their socks and shoes/boots on at this time or wait until later.
Stuff the arms and shoulders of the child's coat with crumpled up newspapers. Put the coat 'collar' around the childs hips and zip it up. This, along with the dark pants, will be the monster body. The bottom of the coat will be around the knees of your child. Safety pin the arm cuffs of the coat to the pockets to make it look like the monster has his hands in his pockets.
Stuff the monster head with crumpled up newspapers (if needed). My monster head was a head that a person can wear. We stuffed it to give it life.
Stuff a pair of light colored pants with crumpled newspapers. This will act like the legs of the Mad Scientist.
Attached the monster head to the light colored pants in the crotch area of the pants with safety pins. (When you are getting a piggy back ride, that is where the head is)
Attach the extra pair of shoes to the bottom of the pants. This will act like the feet of the Mad Scientist.
Put the light colored pants against the childs body and put the belt through the front belt loops, around your child and back through the front loops on the other side of the pants. Buckle the belt. The 'legs' of the Mad Scientist are now attached.
Bend the legs of the light colored pants through the arms of the coat of the monster to make it look like he's hanging on to your legs. Use safety pins as needed to secure this in place.
Put on the mad scientist hair.
Put on the lab coat.
Put on the eye brows and/or mustache. (optional)
Put on the glasses. (optional)
You have now built a mad scientist getting a piggy back ride on a monster.
