Costume Instructions
I used a standard size bucket to trace about seven circles out of a sheet of styrofoam from the hardware store. I cut them out with a knife, and sanded them smooth. I cut out an inner ring as well(for the child's head). I coated the whole outside with white school glue to keep it all together and give it a glossy coat before painting it yellow.
I made the body and legs from cardboard duct taped together and spray painted the whole thing. The arms were a big over-sized turtle neck which we stuffed with air bags that came in a shipping box. The Lego hands were made from old plastic fastfood cups that I cut up and duct taped to a tissue paper roll, then spray painted yellow. The feet were two shoe boxes.The hardest part was where to put the eyes. They would look better higher up on the head, but then the person inside can not see out! Also - no spray paint on styrofoam! It eats it right up!
