Costume Materials
We found the boots, pants, vest and white shirt at Salvation Army and Goodwill. The Belts were also some finds from the same places. The compass was from a toy kit, the sword and gun were from Walmart. Some of the dreadlocks were tacked to the inside of the pirate hat. The silk scarf and tie were a piece of fabric pieced together. We found some fun rings and a bit of black liner beneath the eyes. Added some beads to the hat and braided the center goutee with some more beads. The perfect touch was a toy skeleton.
Costume Instructions
Buy a mustache kit from the dime store, add a few pieces of hair from a dreadlock wig. braid the ends and fasten two extra beads onto each end. Add some dreadlock pieces to the inside of the pirate hat. Add a red silk scarf. find dark bulky pants that can tuck into high - knee height black boots. Then the pants can hang over the pants. Add a white full sleeve shirt and blue long length vest. Find a couple of brown studded belts and add the toy sword and pirate gun. Make a sash out of the silk pieces and tie around the child's waste. One more belt over the shoulder a couple of fun large gem rings no more than three rings. IF you have a toy compass from Pirates of the Carribean add a toy skeleton and dangle by a shoe string or black narrow string. Use black eyeliner as shadows under the eyes.
