Prep Time: 6 Months.
Costume Materials
Shirt, black leggings, high heel boots, grey makeup (4 ounces), black eyeliner (for makeup details & shading), black nail polish, trenchcoat, grey hairspray. BRACERS - Foam, rigid wrap, latex. WINGS - Wood, Masonite, fabric, hardware. CUSTOM FIT FACIAL APPLIQUE - Latex, rigid wrap, plaster, Hydro-cal.
Costume Instructions
CUSTOM FIT FACIAL APPLIQUE - Take a mold of face with rigid wrap, make a cast of face with plaster, mold design of applique on cast with modeling clay, cover with hydro-cal to make mold of applique design, paint mold with latex, adhere to facce with Spirit Gum. WORKING WINGS - Square panel of Masonite against back. Masonite shape of top of wing, wood for mechanism, two knobs on handles & holes in square panel to allow wings to open & remain open, hands-free. Cut cloth to desired design & sew onto wings. Leave material between wings to cover machanism from behind. Attach chains on top left & top right of base panel. Attach chain to center of the bottom of the panel. Bottom chain goes around waist when worn & top two come over shoulders & attach to waist chain. BRACERS W/ SPIKES - The sleeves from the trenchcoat are the leather used for the bracers. Cut leater to fit as a bracer. Put grommets equidistant from each other along easch side of the bracer for lacing. Carve spikes out of foam, wrap spikes in rigid wrap & coat with grey latex when dry. Glue spikes to a strip of strong material (I used denim) & Make cuts in leather to allow spikes to protrude from beneath the leather (as if creature has sprouted spikes through his/her bracers.) GLOVES WITH CLAWS - Get biker gloves with holes in knuckles & bear claw jewelry. Take the bear claws & glue them to a piece of material, spaced so that they will go through the holes in the gloves. Glue the material with claws to inside of glove.
Collar is made from cuffs of trenchcoat. Grommets in the back to lace & tie.
