My daughter declared, 2 nights before halloween that she wanted to be an Easter Island Head for halloween. We contructed it from card board and styrofoam found in the garage, held together with duct tape and painted gray to look like rock. This Easter Island head walks and talks, unlike the originals.

Costume Instructions

Prep Time: 2.5 hours

Costume Materials
Flat cardboard from a large box
flat pieces of styrofoam
duct tape
gray paint
high adhesive glue (optional)

Costume Instructions
cut flat cardboard and fold into the basic shape; secure with duct tape. The front and back are the same size and are rectangle shape. the sides are the same height but are trapazoidal shape with the top being narrower than the front to that the face slants down and away from the top.
cut out more cardboard and/or styrofoam to form one big eyebrow, a big tapering nose, lips and small circles for eyes; attach all with duct tape or high adhesive glue.
cut ample arm holes in the sides and a narrow peep hole in the front between the eyebrow and the nose.
paint the whole thing gray and slip it over the head to wear. it will rest on the wearer's head and shoulders.
