A thin piece of rectangular sheet metal with rounded corners and engraved lettering is completed with a string of silver-beaded Christmas garland.

Costume Instructions

Prep Time: Approximately 60-90 minutes

Costume Materials
1. 1 piece of thin sheet metal (piece in picture is 11.5" x24")
2. Kitchen utility scissors
3. Metal file
4. Metal O-ring
5. Rubber mallet
6. Pencil
7. Awl
8. Hammer
9. 1 string of silver-beaded Christmas tree garland
10. Approximately 36" heavy duty Velcro(Trademark)
11. Small piece of silver wire or twist-tie

Costume Instructions
1. Round the corners of the sheet metal with kitchen utility scissors; smooth any rough edges with the metal file.
2. Punch a hole in the center of one short end of the piece of sheet metal with the metal o-ring and rubber mallet.
3. With a pencil, lightly outline the message, in all capital letters, in the following order:
LAST NAME
FIRST NAME
SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER (make one up)
BLOOD TYPE (for example, A NEG or 0 POS)
RELIGION (for example, PROTESTANT or CATHOLIC)
4. Using an awl and hammer, hammer along your penciled outline, slowly moving the awl along once a sufficient indent has been made.
5. To hold the weight of the Dog Tag, make a necklace using the Velcro (Trademark) by attaching 2 separate 2"-pieces on the back of the Dog Tag (rough side). Location will be determined according to the size of your child.
6. Cut a length (also determined by the size of your child) of the soft side of a strip of Velcro (Trademark)and attach an end to one of the rough pieces you attached to the back of the Dog Tag in Step #5.
7. Bring the loose end of soft Velcro(Trademark)around your child's neck and attach to the other remaining piece of rough Velcro (Trademark).
8. Cut to size the string of garland, then thread it through the hole and secure loose ends with a small piece of silver wire or a twist-tie.
9. Loosely drape the garland over your child's back.
