"Connor the Garden Gnome Costume"

Costume Instructions

Costume Materials
Red sweatpants - size 12 months
Green onesie - size 12 months
Shiny gold ribbon - large enough to tie around body
Hat that stays on with elastic around head
Any witch hat, as long as it is pointy and will stand up
Red material (I used flannel) - about 1/4 yard
Elastic - about 6 inches
White t-shirt material - about 1/4 yard
Pillow stuffing
Hot glue gun
Socks and shoes (preferably tan in color)

Costume Instructions
To make hat - cut the rim off of the witch hat so you can glue the pointy part onto the other hat with elastic around the rim. Glue pointy witch hat over other hat. Cut red material to cover witch hat and glue it to the witch hat.

To make the beard - cut the white t-shirt material in the shape of a beard (a large triangle). Glue the t-shirt material to the 6-inch piece of elastic, leaving about an inch of elastic free on each end. Glue the ends of the elastic to the inside of the hat to form a chin strap for the hat. Cut the pillow stuffing in the shape of the beard and glue to the white t-shirt material. I founnd it to be harder for my son to tear apart if you glue the pillow stuffing to the white t-shirt material instead of having it free.

For the belt, tie a piece of shiny gold ribbon around waist on top of the green onesie, tying in the back.
