Costume Instructions
Using a pattern we cut and assembled the mermaid tails, then added sequins detail using rope sequins and loose sequins to fin and tail. With a homemade pattern I designed the heads for flotsam and jetsam and then stuffed it like a stuffed animal, then gave it teeth with felt and pipe cleaners and then drilled small holes in the light-up eyes and sewed them to the head. I sewed the head to a baseball cap. The eel body I cut out a long tail and sewed it on a t-shirt and then stuffed to give it dimension. Ursula's dress was made by making a simple dress with the black material then bunching the front to make the sweetheart neckline then the tenticals were cut out and purple material added to the bottom of each one. Then the bottom was shaped using electrical wire and then stuffed for dimension.
