Railroad Crossing:
My son has been a train for the past 3 years, so we were very excited when he said he wanted to be something else. He loves anything trains, so of course this fit. The lights on the costume all light up, you can even use a tape player or mp3 player. We have an mp3 player that we recorded train crossing bells, and we tied on a necklace, so as he walks around it plays train crossing sounds. And he is comfortable in his tshirt and sweats, which is great. Everything is fairly light weight. We had a lot of fun with this costume.
My son has been Thomas the Tank Engine for many years, so we had a Thomas costume, which we put our daughter in. So we had a railroad crossing and a train.

Costume Instructions
The crossing gate was a wood plank that was from a craft store, which we painted red & white. Wood was approx 3 feet long. We then took a handle, or you can use anything you can grip easily, and we glued it onto the back. We then took 3 of the jogging lights and clipped them onto the top. You can go with the blinking or just regular reclectors
For the lights on the chest, we used materials we had around the house. My son had a train bank that broke, so we used those lights. But you can take black foam, make circles and then make a cover out of the black foam. And then you can glue the red reflectors, or you can put a slit in the foam if you get the clipped dog lights and just stick the clip, into the slit and they will hang. And then you can either velcro the chest lights to the sweatshirt, or in our case we just used a string ,so it hangs from around the neck.
We glued the crossing sign wood onto the hat. The letters were printed from our computer and then glued on and put Mod Podge on them, and then we sprayed a sealer. Our letters are approx 3 inches by 3 inches. We have a TON of glue on there to hold it up. But it's not going anywhere.
We also have an MP3 player that is on his neck that plays crossing bells sounds. We just took a rubber band around the Mp3 Player and hung it off the back of his neck, if you have somewhere to hang it either from a pants or pocket that would work too.
