Family Group Costumes

My 4 year old EJ and my 2 year old Colby begged me for a year to let them be the Oogie Boogie and Jack the Pumpkin King. I decided to give a try at making my first halloween costumes for my kids and this is how they turned out.

Costume Materials
For the Oogie Boogie Man I used green felt and lined the inside so I could stuff it and make him "fat with bugs". I used a bicycle helmet for the head since it was very top heavy, the chinstrap holds the head piece still. I also used some plastic bugs from the $1 store to embelish. I also used to pieces of square foam for the dice, I got a template for the design of his dice off of the internet. I carved the details out of the foam and then used fabric paint to decorate.

For Jack Skellington I bought a preowned toddler tuxedo and cut the tails jagged. I used plyable safety wire to form the tie and wrapped a gauzey material I found that had been a swimming sarong, around and stiched to make the general shape. I used fabric paint to make the pinstriping.
