Flip and Flop just won't stop. The chilly fall air is here, but this pair is on the loose and looking for fun in the sun. Watch for Big Foot sightings in your neighborhood.

Costume Instructions
Flip Flop Costume
1. Purchase a length of high density foam (2 inches thick). It should extend approximately 6 inches above your child’s head and 3-4 inches below the knees.
2. Draw the shape of a flip flop onto the foam with a marker; cut out shape with an electric knife.
3. If desired, purchase a piece of fabric, trace shape of flip flop onto the wrong side of the fabric; cut out. Attach the fabric to the foam piece using spray adhesive.
4. Purchase a 1.5-yard strip of 2-inch wide vinyl (it needs to be a thicker, stiff material). Cut in half; cut one end of each strip into a point. Overlap the two points and hot glue them together.
5. Hold the flip flop behind your child and mark the spot where the flip flop straps will meet, just above your child’s left shoulder (for a Left foot) or right shoulder (for a Right foot).
6. Over a cutting board, using a sharp knife, carefully poke a hole through the flip flop at the mark made in step #6.
7. Push the pointed end of the v-shaped vinyl strap through the hole and hot glue in place on the back of the flip flop. Let dry thoroughly.
8. Hold the flip flop behind your child again with the ‘V’ of the strap over his/her respective shoulder. Your child’s head is the ‘Big Toe’. Bring one end of the strap across your child’s chest around to the back of the flip flop and hot glue in place. Repeat process with the other vinyl strap; attaching on the other side of the flip flop.

Foot Costume:
1. Using a hooded sweatshirt or pullover as a guide, cut tan fleece to size as follows: front and back of body rounding the bottom of each to create the heal, sleeves, and hood pieces. With remaining fleece, cut out toes (two of each piece) second toe thru pinky toe. These will be long U shaped pieces decreasing in size with each tow.
2. With right sides together sew front and back together at the shoulders. Pin top of sleeve to arm opening and stitch in place. Repeat on other side. Matching the cuff of the sleeve, the seam at the arm pit, and the side of the front and back pieces, stitch along the bottom of arm and sides of body on each side.
3. Stitch the top of the hood. Push hood into neck and pin. Sew around the neck opening to attach hood. Turn the entire garment right side out.
4. Stitch each of the toes leave the bottom of each open.
5. Stuff the toes and hot glue the opening shut.
6. Starting at the shoulder, hot glue each toe in place down the sleeve. You may want to glue each toe to the one next to it for extra support.
7. Cut toenails for each of your toes from red felt and glue into place.
8. Use red face paint on your child’s face to create the toenail for the big toe.
