Costume Instructions

Costume Materials
French Fries-2 yards of white felt, iron-on backing for stiffening, poly foam cut into strips, spray paint for fries,
fabric paints in red & brown, white ribbon for straps, hot glue gun.
Ketchup & Salt Packets-Standard size pillow cases, fabric paints in red, black & white, black permanent marker, 1 yard of plain white cotton fabric for salt packet outside, batting

Costume Instructions
French Fries-Cut the white felt to fit amply around your body (it will fit more snuggly when it's filled with fries). Iron in the stiffener to the inside of the bag. Hot glue the ends so that the top and bottom are open and the sides are closed. Sketch the logo you prefer on the outside of the felt with chalk. Go over it with the fabric paint (the fine tip kind) and spread paint on the inside of the outline with a small paint brush. Allow to dry. Cut the polyfoam into long strips and spraypaint a golden yellow. Once all is dry, slip into the bag and position the fries where they'll be comfortable. Mark inside of bag with a marker or pencil so you remember where to glue the fries. Remove bag and glue fries in. Add ribbon to bag and over your shoulders in a criss cross pattern and glue to back inside of bag.

Ketchup Packet-Sketch ketchup bottle on pillow case. Place cardboard or heavy paper inside pillow case so the paint will not bleed through. Using fabric paint with fine tip, outline ketchup bottle, label and wording. Color in with more paint and use small brush to spread paint. Allow to dry. Use black permanent market to draw on "tear here" and ridges at top and bottom. Draw logo if you prefer on back. Cut hole in top of pillow case for childs head and a hole in each side for arms.

Salt Packet-hot glue extra white material onto outside of pillow case to form channels. Sketch "Salt" and "tear here" with dotted lines onto pillow case. Outline with red fabric paint with fine tip. Fill in and spread paint with small paint brush. Allow to dry. Fill channels with quilt batting and hot glue channels shut. Cut hole in top of pillow case for childs head and a hole in each side for arms.
