Costume Materials
I bought 3 yards of orange cotton fabric, 2 yards yellow cotton fabric & 2 yards of white cotton fabric. I just used a basic dress pattern. White turtle neck and tights.
Costume Instructions
First I found a basic dress pattern that had a flare bottom on it. I started with the top part of the dress I used yellow cotton fabric, then I made a collar with white cotton fabric, then for the skirt part I used the orange fabric. I had a hard time getting the bottom of the skirt to stay round and wide I even tried using gage wire from the fabric store and that didn't even work so well, but my husband had a great idea, we used thick covered electrial wire(he's an electrian) in the bottom hem and it worked perfect, the bottom of the dress didn't move. Then I sewed the three pieces together. I made little candy corn patches with the left over material and I glued them on with fabric glue. For the headband, I made up some more patches and glued them to a headband that my daughter had around the house. She wore a white turtle neck and white tights.
