Battling CO2

Our family wanted to live more green, but also save money. We were looking to find ways to make our house run more efficiently when we received an offer from our local utility company. If we agreed to swap out our standard incandescent light bulbs for CFL (Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs), they would provide the CFL bulbs and installation FREE OF CHARGE. They are encouraging people to switch to CFL bulbs because they can use up to 75% less energy than standard incandescent bulbs. We've learned that only about 10% of the energy used by a standard incandescent bulb creates light; the rest is given off as heat -- not a good thing when you're trying to stay cool. CFL bulbs create much less heat, so our family will use less air conditioning; lowering the cost of cooling our home. And, each CFL bulb will prevent 1000 lbs of Carbon Dioxide from polluting our air. Lower electricity bills for us and millions of tons less global warming pollution for Mother Earth!
