Description

Our happy dancing panda gingerbread cookies may seem a bit out of place at Christmas but they are perfect for a second grade study of Christmas traditions around the world.

Our pandas, skipping around a Chinese pagoda, the Tree of Light, and Dun Che Lao Ren-China's gift giver, are easy to make and instantly make a study of China's Christmas traditions interesting and fun.

Ingredients

20 gingerbread men or one per student
2 packages of Wilton's pre made white cookie icing
black food coloring
candy canes, candy stars and presents

How to Make

  • Add black food coloring to one bottle of icing.

Turn the gingerbread men into pandas by adding white icing to the cookies to form bellies and heads. Set aside to dry. Next use the black icing to form arms, legs, eyes, mouths and ears. Set aside to dry. Decorate with candy.

Tips for Taking a Great Photo:
    • Avoid clutter. Keep the background simple -- your gingerbread house or holiday cookie is the star!
    • Daytime, natural light is best. If your area is bright enough, try taking the photo without the flash.
    • Upload a horizontal photo. If you crop the image on your computer, make sure you keep a landscape 4:3 aspect ratio.
    • For best results, make your image 1200x900 (or "save for web").
    • With a digital camera, you can take as many photos as possible and choose the best one. Have fun!
