How to Make

  • Cut out your template onto cardstock. Cut your gingerbread pieces out of gingerbread recipe and let set up for a least a day before assemblying. Windows are made with melted candy.

  • Glue structure together with royal icing. Cover with fondant embossed with brick pattern. Cover remaining with white fondant and fondant trim.

  • Landscape with royal icing for snow. Trees are made from fondant snipped with small scissors to create the branches. Animals were hand molded and painted with gel colors mixed with lemon juice. Powdered sugar was dusted on roof tops and around the yard area.

Tips for Taking a Great Photo:
    • Avoid clutter. Keep the background simple -- your gingerbread house or holiday cookie is the star!
    • Daytime, natural light is best. If your area is bright enough, try taking the photo without the flash.
    • Upload a horizontal photo. If you crop the image on your computer, make sure you keep a landscape 4:3 aspect ratio.
    • For best results, make your image 1200x900 (or "save for web").
    • With a digital camera, you can take as many photos as possible and choose the best one. Have fun!
