The Girl Scouts I go camping with always eat S'mores arounf the campfire.... When I was a little kid, my family went camping and we ate s'mores as a family too.
Your descriptions are very good in the recipe. I would add that the marshmellow should be "roasted" slowly to melt the inside but not the burn the outside.... It takes a lot of practice to get the marshmellow to exactly the correct temperature....but you can always eat the "mistakes"......

I've tried the peanut butter cup (mini? why mini?! go BIG!) on a chocolate-chocolate chip cookie- super decadent and sticky! I also suggest: oatmeal cookies; dark chocolate or Ghirardelli squares of any variety (very conveniently proportioned). or my pregnancy invention- toasted marshmallows and orange marmalade on a sourdough english muffin- it didn't help my heartburn any but it sure made me happy right then!!

A great variation of the tradional s'mores is instead of graham crackers use chocolate graham crackers and a bite-size peanut butter cup instead of the chocolate bar. Yummy!
