These are the best gingerbread men I've ever eaten. A nice light flavor with a hint of orange.

Yield:3 -5 dozen
Ingredients
 1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tablespoons orange zest
2 tablespoons dark corn syrup
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions
  1. Cream the butter and the sugar together. Add the egg and mix well. Mix in the orange peel and dark corn syrup. Add the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, ground cloves and salt, mixing until well combined. Chill dough overnight.
  2. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
  3. Roll dough out to 1/4 inch thick and cut into desired shapes. Place cookies 1 inch apart on the prepared pan. Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 10 to 12 minutes.

At 1/4 inch thickness, the cookies lose their shape, but I found that rolling the dough slightly thinner prevented the cookies from melting together. Just remember to adjust the baking time.

That's too bad. I cooked them at 375 and they turned out great. The do puff up, though, so make sure to place them at least 1 inch (maybe more) apart on the cookie sheet.

I followed your recipe to the letter. The only change I made was using Molasses instead of corn syrup because that's what I had in the pantry.
Are you sure that you listed the recipe correctly? Is 375 the correct temperature?
I made two separate batches and both "MELTED" into one big mess after only 10 minutes at 375. I checked and double checked.
Very dissapointed with your recipe!!
