Fighting After-School Snack Attacks
These are excellent ideas, even though most of them are kind of obvious-I guess all of us need a reminder now and then, right? The challenge for me is keeping fresh fruits and veggies on hand like this, since my closest grocery store is about a 20 minute drive and I try to go as long as possible between shopping trips. Dried fruits are great for this! My kids always act like they are halfway starved at 6pm when I pick them up from the daycare (lunch at 11:30 and snack at 2:30), so I need quick and filling snacks like these to throw on the table as soon as we walk in the door so I can make dinner in peace!

In my experience, kids love snacks (or any meal, really) they can eat with their hands. A little bag of Cheerios for toddlers always works great (but look out for the powder when they get crushed into the floor). Older kids love dipping their snacks. I prefer something healthy like hummus over fatty ranch dressing for raw veggies or pita chips.

This is a very good article. I liked the healthy snack options as well as the "working together" to create them.
