Tint most of the buttercream lavender. Leave about 1/2 c. white. Frost the 2 layer cake with lavender buttercream frosting. Smooth frosting. Tint most of fondant lavender. Using cake pan as a guide, lay on rolled out lavender fondant and lighty trace pan outline on fondant. Add scallops around this outline. Cut out and lay on top of frosted cake. Tint more fondant pink and roll out and cut out 2" circles- 3 circles for each rose. Roll up first circle, wrap this with 2nd circle, wrap again with 3rd circle to form each rose. Cluster 3 roses at different places on cake. Using cutters, cut out letters for name and for small flowers. Place on and around cake. Tint more fondant green, roll out, and cut with small leaf cutter. Place on cake. Place store bought crown on cake. Using a larger circle cutter, make 2 large roses from fondant and place on top of cake. Add more green leaves. With white buttercream and writing tip, pipe white dots in center of small flowers.
- Avoid clutter. Keep the background simple -- your cake is the star!
- Daytime, natural light is best. If your area is bright enough, try taking the photo without the flash. To brighten up your space for non-flash photos,
- You can use a silver platter or other reflective surface under your cake.
- Try shooting your cake at a slight angle to give it a sense of depth and perspective. Find the most interesting element and make it a focal point.
- Upload a horizontal photo. If you crop the image on your computer, make sure you keep a landscape 4:3 aspect ratio.
- For best results, make your image 1200x900 (or "save for web").
- With a digital camera, you can take as many photos as possible and choose the best one. Have fun!
