8 Disney Princess Birthday Parties

Princess Party #8 Pocahontas Party
Décor: Get started with a few decorations. Place bright and cheery sunflowers (either the craft or the real thing!) at the entrance to the party. If you have access to a teepee, it can be a great item to use as a background for party photos that are sent to guests with thank you notes. Add to the atmosphere by putting on the soundtrack to the movie (or the sequel, Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World).
Crafts and Favors: You and your daughter can make an Indian corn necklace out of clay a few days before the party so that she is able to wear it proudly on her birthday. With beads and some string, a table at the party can be set up where guests can string their own necklaces to wear. Kids can even decorate simple headbands with feathers at the party to wear and take home with them. Face painting is also another effective party activity.
Treats: True adventurers eventually need sustenance. Similar to a nest that Pocahontas' hummingbird friend Flit might have built, this nifty nest is edible! In keeping with the type of crops that Native Americans once grew, corn on the cob or corn bread could also be served.
