Mummified King Tut Costume

Your child will rule the Halloween party with this easy-to-assemble King Tut costume.

| headband
bobby pins or hair clips white streamers/toilet paper white shirt, pants, socks, shoes tape/glue scissors X-acto knife or hole punch cutting board string markers card stock printable mask, headpiece, and beard. | |

| Instructions: | |
| 1. | Click on each of the following links for your printable King Tut mask, headpiece, and beard. To view the .pdf file, you'll need Adobe Reader which is available for free from the Adobe site. |
| 2. | Paste each printout onto card stock, making sure the glue is on the back of the costume images. Have your child color in the mask and headpiece. It can be in traditional King Tut style (see picture) or any way your child desires. |
| 3. | A parent or other grown-up can then cut out the mask and pieces. Also, be sure to cut out the eyes and mouth, so your child can see and breathe. Using an X-acto knife (and cutting board) or a hole punch will make the cutting easier. |
| 4. | Punch one hole on either side of the mask (in the designated area). Reinforce the holes with tape, so that the mask doesn't rip while it is being worn. Thread a length of string through each hole and secure it. Make sure the mask fits snugly but not too tightly around your child's head. |
| 5. | Glue the headpiece attachments (a) to the printable
headpiece (b) in the designated area.
Attach the headpiece to the headband by wrapping the tabs around the headband from front to back and taping them to the back. Or use bobby pins or hair clips to attach the headpiece tabs to your child's hair. |
| 6. | Glue the beard piece to the back of the chin area on the mask so that the tab is not seen and the colored side is facing forward. |
| 7. | Dress your child in pants and sweatshirt. |
| 8. | Wrap the streamers or toilet paper around your little mummy, add the mask and headpiece, and you have the final mummified effect. |
