Want to look like a walking X ray? Brighten up the bones with glow-in-the-dark paint.
| Prep Time: Afternoon or Evening | |
| What you need: | |
| Black permanent marker
2 plastic jugs 1 yard of elastic ribbon White Con-Tact paper Butcher paper Black leggings Turtleneck Shoes White bathing cap White and black face paint | |
| Seasons: Halloween | |
| Materials: contact paper, elastic, paints, plastic jugs | |
| Instructions: | |
| 1. | For the hands: Using a marker, trace your child's hands
(including her wrists) onto a plastic milk jug. Color in the
hands, then cut them out. Cut two slits into the plastic at each
wrist, and thread an 8-inch piece of elastic through. |
| 2. | Draw and cut hand-bone shapes on the Con-Tact paper, then affix to the plastic hands. |
| 3. | To put on the hands, wrap the elastic around your child's wrists and safety-pin in place. |
| 4. | For the feet: Use the same technique, but make two elastic straps per foot -- one that goes around the ankle and one that slips under the sole of your child's shoe. |
| 5. | For the bones: Have your child lie on the butcher paper,
with arms slightly bent. Trace her outline. This will be your
template to use when cutting the Con-Tact paper. |
| 6. | Place the butcher paper over the Con-Tact paper. Cut sections of Con-Tact paper to roughly cover the major areas of the tracing, then draw and cut out bones. Stick the bones onto your child's leggings and turtleneck. |
| 7. | For the skull: Cover your child's head with the white
bathing cap, tucking hair in. Now, cover her face (including her
lips) with white face paint. Use black face paint around eyes, on
nose, and to draw a wide, toothy smile.
