Captain Jack Sparrow Costume
We put this costume together from thrift shops and hand making items. My son is a huge Jack Sparrow fan and wanted to go as him for Halloween. The store bought costumes were too "CHEESY" and he wanted to be as authentic as possible. We had a great time making all of the extra items all they way down to the ring on his hand that had the skulls and green stone in it like that of Capt. Jack. It was the most fun costume we have ever put together on our own.
Prep Time: Makeup and all takes 45 min.
Costume Materials
- material
- material glue
- beads
- leather string
- beads
- dangly earring for end of beads
- fimo clay
- sandals
- wig
- bandana
- shirt
- pants
- vest
- We bought a cheap wig and added everything the beads, coins and leather to it ourselves.
- Other things, like the ring on his hand, I made myself from fimo clay then baked and painted it.
- To the sash we added the red lines with a permanent marker and then took it to the driveway and dragged it around with bricks on it to shred and age it.
- The boots we made from an old pair of sandals and material and material glue.
- The facial hair is hair we cut from his wig and applied to his face with spirit gum. (He is only 13).
- The coins in his hair are coins from India that we drilled holes into and added to the wig.
- The boots took us a couple of hours to make. The ring took me about 3 hours. The sash took a couple of hours to put all of the lines into it and rough it up. The wig took a couple of hours to string beads onto fishing line and tie into the wig, tie leather into the wig and add the bandana.
