Little Red Clown Costume
Prep Time: about 3 days, because of sewing
Costume Materials
- one hat
- yarn of various
- bright colors
- bright fabrics for shirt and patches
- large bright craft buttons
- rainbow colored ribbon
- bright colored nylon shorts (like basketball knee-length shorts)
- funky socks
- big shoes
- and face paint!
- To determine hair length, I put the hat on him to measure how long the yarn should be from the hat to his shoulders.
- Then I cut all the different colors into this length and sewed them inside the rim of the hat. (This took the most time, as I have no machine and had to do all of it by hand a few pieces at a time.)
- Then I used the "circus-looking" fabric and just cut out two pieces that were in the shape of a shirt and sewed them together. Luckily, it didn't need to look perfect because it was a clown!
- I attached the large buttons to the front and the rainbow strips to the sides to look like suspenders.
- Then I just cut out a few pieces of the other fabric to make patches on the shorts.
- Then I put it all together with the socks and big shoes and painted his face, and voila! A very cute clown!
