Fairy Pretty Flower Costume

Sweet little flower fairy.

Prep Time: A couple of hours

Costume Materials
  • a one piece pink turtleneck or a leotard
  • 1/2 yard silky/shiny pink material
  • 2 yards each of pink and green tulle material
  • plastic headband
  • thread
  • needle
  • straight pins
  • fake pink flowers in which the "head" of the flower and leaves are easily removed
  • glue gun
  • glue sticks for glue gun
  • elastic ribbon
  • child's size fairy wings
  • scissors
  • green tights
  • store bought princess or fairy wand
Costume Instructions
  1. Measure green tulle against your child how tall your child is to see how long to make the tulle skirt.
  2. Cut green tulle to twice the suggested length from step 1 and fold in half lengthwise.
  3. Cut pink tulle slightly shorter than the green tulle and overlap this length 3 times.
  4. Measure the elastic ribbon against the one piece garment and cut accordingly.
  5. Put green tulle against the elastic ribbon and bunch to create a tutu effect and secure to ribbon using straight pins.
  6. Sew green tulle onto elastic ribbon and remove straight pins.
  7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 with pink tulle.
  8. Fold the satin material into a small square and using scissors, cut out a petal shape out of overlaped sqaure so that you can make a lot of them at once.
  9. Secure petals onto the green and pink tutu usting straight pins.
  10. Secure tutu onto one piece garment with strait pins and sew on.
  11. Remove flower "heads" and leaves from flowers.
  12. Using glue gun, glue leaves onto the waist (make sure you cover the elastic) and around the collar of the one piece garment and onto the plastic headband, then glue flowers onto the waist, collar, store bought wand and headband.
