A Winter Fairy costume.

Prep Time: 45 minutes to 1 hour

Costume Materials
  • Pre-made fairy costume in blue or white (the costume I bought came with fairy wings that attach to costume and a headband)
  • Felt snowflakes (pre-made or make yourself)
  • Silver and blue glitter glue
  • Silver rhinestones are optional to add to snowflakes
  • Hot glue gun
  • Silver wand
  • Thin white and blue ribbon
  • Snowflake ornaments to glue to wand
  • White tights
Costume Instructions
  1. Main costume piece: I bought a pre-made blue flower fairy costume. Included in the package were the wings and a headband to match. I removed the blue flowers from waist of the costume. I bought felt snowflake ornament kits which included silver glitter glue, silver rhinestones and the pre-cut light blue and white snowflakes. I assembled and decorated the felt snowflakes then used a hot glue gun to attach to the costume around the waist.
  2. Headband: I removed the blue flower from the headband, but left the blue tule. I cut out my own felt snowflake to attach to the headband. (I wanted a variety of shapes for the snowflakes instead of having them all look the same.) I used blue and silver glitter glue as well as silver rhinestones to decorate them, which matched the snowflakes on the body of the costume. I used a hot glue gun to attach the snowflake to the headband.
  3. Wings: I made a second snowflake to match the one on the headband. The second one I used in the middle of the wings to replace the blue flower. I also cut various length light blue and white ribbons and attached to the bottom of the wings. (Ribbons were glued just under the snowflake in the center of the wings.)
  4. Wand: I bought a silver wand with a star on top to make the snowflake wand. I bought two dark blue glitter snowflake ornaments to put over the star. I used the hot glue gun to attach one snowflake to each side of the star. I cut various length light blue and white ribbon. I used the hot glue gun to attach the ribbons under the snowflakes.
  5. I put white tights on her under the costume. There was enough room under the costume to have her wear a white turtle-neck if the weather is too cold.
