Alice In Wonderland Costume
My beautiful princess selected a fun idea after watching the Disney presentation of Alice In Wonderland! Her costume was soft, comfortable, and got lots of attention from all she came in contact with. The dark patent leather sandal shoes with the perfect bright white socks combined with a soft blue dress and crisp white apron was perfectly comfortable and garnered her a lot of extra smiles. The best part of all was just how simple it was to put it all together!
Prep Time: 2 hours
Costume Materials
- From top to bottom: Her headband was cut from a soft wide ribbon and secured at the base with a small amount of craft wire creating a smooth elegant look that would still hold her fine hair.
- We took the DVD to the fabric store and matched the color to the cotton blend fabric that would be used to make the dress. We selected a simple dress pattern to complete the "Alice" basic dress look.
- Next we selected a bright white cotton blend material to make a simple apron. We did some minor fitting adjustments to the length and waist to make the apron fit and appear more like Alice, but overall the dress and apron were simple!
- The socks were bought white mini cotton & the shoes were store bought leather black shoes (church shoes). They are simple and cute and they really did complete the look. We wore this costume to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party so the costume needed to be Simple and Comfortable above all else. We finished the look with a Disney Ches. Cat purse.
- This is the best part of all! We used a very basic dress and apron pattern, carefully selected colors to best match Alice when we met her, and owned the shoes and socks already! This brings a whole new meaning to easy to make! I had the pattern cut out and the dress and apron sewn in just under 2 hours!
- The hair ribbon took about 10 minutes. Getting my daughter to display her priceless smile took less than one minute! I wish I had more to write here, but this was sincerely very easy to make!
