The Dream Team's Best Halloween Costumes: Friendly Frankenstein
Disney Family.com's Dream Team parents always have great tricks up their sleeves. So for Halloween, they've shared the secrets and stories behind their favorite homemade costumes.
Why I loved this costume:
Trevor was so excited to pick out his Halloween costume that year. He couldn't decide between a skeleton, monster or vampire. He just knew he wanted to scare people. But when we got to the costume aisle, Trevor sadly realized he too was afraid of the masks and scary noises and couldn't muster the courage to try anything on. In fact, he asked to leave the store rather than face the fake carnage in Aisle 5. To appease his desire to be a monster, we decided to keep it simple and make our own costume — sans mask — so that Trevor could look in the mirror without running off screaming.
You will need:
Steps:
- 1. Cut the length of the arms of the suit jacket to fit (ragged edges are okay) and stuff the shoulders and upper arms with pillow stuffing. Stuff the jacket tightly the stuffing in place to look like bulging muscles.
2. Cover face with green face paint before putting on black wig with fake wide forehead.
3. Use black face paint to draw in dark, angry eyebrows
4. Use red face paint to make fake scars and bloody lips. (Check out lots of face painting ideas.)
5. A black T-shirt and black pants complete Frankenstein's costume.
