Use plaster cloth to craft a canine in the likeness of your family pet. Check out Plaster Pals for basics on building this and other critters.

Prep Time: Afternoon or Evening
What you need:
 12-inch balloon
Plaster cloth (we used 2 packages of Activa Rigid Wrap; see Plaster Cloth Basics) cut into 6-inch strips
Scissors
Shallow pan of warm water
Bowl
Aluminum foil
Masking tape
Acrylic paints and brushes
Craft foam and stapler or foam tape (for variations)
Seasons: Summer, Year round
Materials: plaster cloth
Instructions:
1. Ears and nose: Form ears and a nose from aluminum foil and tape them onto the unpainted plastered balloon (as in step 5 of Plaster Pals). Cover the foil and tape completely with a layer of plaster strips. Allow the project to dry completely before painting (for our shiny base paint, we used a brown metallic acrylic).
2. Dog collar stand: Cut craft foam into a 2- by 17-inch strip, secure it into a ring with staples or double-sided foam tape, and dress it up with paper-fastener studs. Display your pooch on top of the collar once the paint is completely dry.
