Just etch a sketch for some terrific trees.

Prep Time: Under 1 hour
What you need:
 8 1/2- by 11-inch card stock
Vellum
Craft foam
Scissors
Paintbrush
Hole punch
Ribbon
Seasons: Christmas, Winter
Materials: card stock, scissors
Instructions:
1.Cut a piece of 8 1/2- by 11-inch card stock or scrapbooking paper (colored on one side, white on the other) in half, then fold each of those pieces in half, giving you 2 cards. (Tip: Rub along the fold with the back of a plastic spoon for an extracrisp crease.)
2.Cut a 3 1/2- by 5-inch rectangle of vellum (you can get 5 such rectangles from an 8 1/2- by 11-inch sheet).
3.Place 1 piece of vellum on a soft surface such as some folded-up paper towels or a piece of craft foam. With the pointed end of a small paintbrush, a chopstick, a blunt letter opener, or even one tine of a fork, scratch a Christmas tree -- or any other pattern -- into the vellum. (Don't push too hard or you can break through the paper.) To get the proportions right, we found it was easiest to start at the top of the tree and work our way down.
4.Center the vellum over the front of the card and punch 2 holes through the top, about 1/4 inch apart (don't go through the back of the card). Thread or tie a ribbon through the holes to hold your evergreen in place.
