Here's a fun way to keep your child's accessories accessible: a simple face-shaped holder topped with yarn locks that she can clip barrettes and hairpins to when she's not wearing them.

Prep Time: Under 1 hour
What you need:
Armature wire, 4-feet long (available at craft and art supply stores)
Red Crayola Model Magic modeling material
Yarn, in a color close to your child's hair color
Decorative ribbon or string
Seasons: Year round
Materials: armature wire
Instructions:
1.To make one, first bend a 4-foot length of armature wire (available at craft and art supply stores) as shown. You can download and print a face template here.

(To view the .pdf file, you'll need Adobe Reader which is available for free from the Adobe site.)
2.Step 2Shape lips from red Crayola Model Magic modeling material and mold them onto the end of the wire below the nose.
3.For the hair, wind yarn close to the shade of your child's locks around the backs of 2 chairs placed several feet apart until the loop is about 2 inches thick. (We set our chairs about 4 feet apart to get our 6½-foot braid.) Tie the strands together in one place with a short piece of yarn, then remove the loop from the chairs and cut it directly opposite the tie. Braid each side of the hair and tie off the ends with yarn and decorative ribbon.
4.Finally, tie the hair to the face in several places with short pieces of yarn, then tie a length of ribbon or string to the top for a hanger.

Adorable! I love projects like this that are so simple, you say, "Why didn't I think of that?!"
