There's something inherently, heart-squeezingly adorable about babies' feet. Capitalize on those tiny toes by sneaking a footprint (really, Baby won't mind) and turning it into a rubber stamp that's just right for making holiday cards and gift tags for all her admirers.
| Prep Time: 1 to 2 weeks | |
| What you need: | |
| Nontoxic, washable tempera paint
Paper plate Small roller brush or sponge | |
| Seasons: Year round | |
| Materials: card stock, paints | |
| Instructions: | |
| 1. | To make a footprint, squirt a blob of nontoxic, washable
tempera paint onto a paper plate and soak up the paint with a
small roller brush or slightly dampened sponge. With the baby
sitting in her car seat or a bouncy seat, paint her foot with the
roller or press her foot onto the sponge (picture a rubber stamp
and an ink pad) and then, firmly, press her foot onto a piece of
stiff paper, such as card stock or watercolor paper. If your
baby's solid on her feet, you can even let her step right onto
the sponge and then onto the paper. |
| 2. | Take the footprint to a stationery shop and ask them to make it into a rubber stamp (it should take less than 2 weeks and cost between $15 and $25, depending on the size). Use it to make gift tags, cards, gift wrap, and thank-you notes. |
