One way to turn a bunch of legumes into more than a hill of beans is to arrange them into a colorful mosaic.
| Prep Time: About 2 to 3 hours | |
| What you need: | |
| Corrugated cardboard
Pencil White glue Paintbrush Assortment of dried beans and peas Tweezers (optional) | |
| Seasons: Year round | |
| Materials: cardboard, food items | |
| Instructions: | |
| 1. | To begin, sketch a design on the cardboard -- a simple stick figure, a geometric shape or a more detailed scene. Use the paintbrush to cover a small portion of the design with a thick coat of white glue. |
| 2. | Now arrange beans on top of the glued area, following the drawn figures and shapes. (A pair of tweezers comes in handy for positioning smaller legumes.) |
| 3. | Continue in this manner until the entire design is filled in. Then, allow the glue to dry completely before setting the mosaic upright. |
