| Shoe or boot box with a cover
Gift wrap scraps Scissors or a craft knife Glue or tape Wooden dowel (3/8 inch wide and cut 2 inches longer than the width of the box) Rubber bands | |

| Instructions: | |
| 1. | Decorate the outside of the box by gluing or taping pieces of festive gift wrap to the surface. |
| 2. | Next, make matching holes in opposite sides of the box to fit the dowel (a parent’s job). Insert the dowel through one hole partway into the box, then slide on reels of decorating ribbon and push the dowel end out the opposite hole. |
| 3. | Wrap a rubber band around each end of the dowel to keep it from sliding back through, if needed. Now make holes in the box front and thread the ribbon ends through them. |
