Old magazines Scissors Glue Unlined paper Lace or other trimming (optional) | |
| Seasons: Valentine's day | |
| Materials: paper | |
| Instructions: | |
| 1. | Scan the magazine pages for photos or sketch objects that you can use to represent specific words. for example, you can use a picture of a knot for the word "not," a tin can for the verb "can" or an eye for "I." |
| 2. | Make a list of letters that sound like whole words, such as b for "be," c for "see," r for "are," t for "tea," u for "you" or y for "why." |
| 3. | Think of numbers that can substitute for words, such as 2 for "to" or "too," and 8 for "ate." |
| 4. | Then cut and paste those symbols onto a heart shaped piece
of unlined paper to create the desired message.
