When the temperature rises this summer, your child can keep his cool with an ice pack in his favorite shade -- of color, that is.
| Prep Time: Under 1 hour | |
| What you need: | |
| quart-size, freezer-safe ziplock bag
corn syrup food coloring | |
| Seasons: Summer | |
| Materials: food items, ice, plastic bags | |
| Instructions: | |
| 1. | Fill a quart-size freezer-safe ziplock bag with corn syrup and mix in food coloring until the desired shade is reached. Carefully squeeze out any air, then close the bag and seal it inside a second ziplock bag. |
| 2. | Store your homemade ice pack in the freezer. There it will remain pliable, ready to ward off the summer heat, add a cool twist to a game of hot potato -- or soothe a skinned knee. |
