To recruit a fun gang of cycling fans for the Ultimate Bike Birthday Party, send out an invitation that really spins. Deliver it in an envelope designed to hold compact discs; addresses appear in the window, penned in silver on black paper. (Mailing square envelopes costs a bit extra; check with the post office.)

Prep Time: About 2 to 3 hours
What you need:
 Black and white card stock
CD
Scissors
Compass, can, or glass
Thin black marker
Glue stick
Photocopier
Heavy-duty aluminum foil
Pinking shears
Hole punch
Paper fasteners
Silver marker
CD envelopes
Seasons: Birthday
Materials: card stock
Instructions:
1.To make each tire, use a CD to trace a circle onto the black card stock. Cut out the circles and set them aside.
2.Using a computer or printing by hand, write out the party details on the white card stock (or paper) in two blocks of text, as shown. Cut these out.
3.On the white card stock, use the compass or a can or glass to draw a circle 4 1/4 inches in diameter. To make spokes, draw straight lines through the center of the circle with a thin black marker.
4.With the glue stick, affix the invitation text blocks as shown. Cut out this "master" circle, then photocopy as many as needed onto the white card stock and cut them out.
5.Using the pinking shears, cut a small circle from the foil for each invitation.
6.Stack the black, white, and foil circles as shown. Make a hole in the center of each stack with a hole punch, then secure the layers with a paper fastener.
7.Using the silver marker, write the address on the back of each invitation. Place them in the CD envelopes to mail, with the address in the window.
