Music Review: "Take It Off" (CD single)
What Parents Should Know
Parents need to know that this single contains troublesome
messages for people of any age, let alone impressionable young
teens. The entire song is based on getting extremely drunk
while out on the town, with the scene deteriorating to the
point that people start acting violently (smashing things,
etc.) and taking their clothes off in public. While the tune
doesn't include any swearing or graphic sexual descriptions,
its glorification of drinking to extreme excess is a message
that any parent would want their teen to avoid.

Risque dance-pop princess Ke$ha is at it again in "TAKE IT OFF," the latest single from her album Animal . In this song, Ke$ha engages in some hardcore clubbing and partying, getting so drunk that she and her friends start to knock over trash cans, break bottles, and engage in other acts left up to the imagination. Though there's no explicit mention of sex, the partygoers also take all their clothes off on the dance floor. This track may lack swear words and graphic sexual descriptions, but its out-of-control partying is still a negative message for people of any age, let alone young kids.
Granted, Ke$ha's music is meant for the clubs, so effects like the auto-tune are to be expected; however, she goes on auto-tune overboard in this track, making it difficult to hear much of her voice at all. The synth beat itself is catchy enough, though it's not much different than her many singles that have come before, making this seem like a ho-hum single overall.
