What Parents Should Know
Parents need to know that this single gets pretty steamy --
describing make-out sessions in the back of cars and wanting to
get a girl undressed. Though there's no profanity, the track
also makes a reference to a kiss tasting like whiskey.
- Families can talk about what might happen if a young person allows an innocent kiss to go too far. How can it hurt you to move too fast?
- What other ways can you enjoy the company of a crush without getting physical?
Continuing their musical collaboration, electropop duo 3OH!3 has cut another tune with pop singer Ke$ha: "MY FIRST KISS." This time, the guys are in the driver's seat, getting top billing on the song while Ke$ha serves as special guest; the opposite was true on their earlier tune "Blah Blah Blah." In the new track, the three sing about a first kiss that quickly turns mature, with heavy make-out sessions under bleachers and in back seats of cars. While there's no swearing or graphic sexual descriptions beyond the line "I want to get you out your panties," the song is highly suggestive of more mature sex acts that go beyond just kissing. In addition, mention is made of a kiss tasting like whiskey.
"My First Kiss" is among the catchier 3OH!3 songs, with a cool hook that revolves around rapid hand-claps. The lyrics are delivered in the guys' signature talk-sing format, with Ke$ha adding more of the same from the female perspective. In another classic 3OH!3 move, the song eventually crescendos into a big synth-pop finish that will likely get it plenty of spins in the dance clubs.
