What Parents Should Know
Parents need to know that the single "BLAH BLAH BLAH"
revolves around casual sex. On top of several references to
hooking up, the song includes mild profanity ("bitch" and
"d--k") and discussion of drinking whiskey.
- Families can talk about the risks involved in casual hookups. What might happen if you're out with friends, decide to take a drink, and end up having a casual sexual encounter?
- How can you resist the temptation to be reckless when you're having a good time at a party or club?
Riding the wave of success generated by her debut album, Animal, pop singing sensation Ke$ha has released another single from the record titled " Blah Blah Blah." Getting a vocal hand from krunk kings 3OH!3, Ke$ha spends the duration of this track talking about how a guy can't do a lot of blabbing (hence the "blah blah blah") if he wants to hook up with her. While this initially seems like a good commentary on people who talk a lot of smack, it's actually more about cutting out the small talk and getting to the casual sex. With swearing, references to drinking, and plenty of sexual references, " Blah Blah Blah" is definitely not for young kids.
Ke$ha's signature sound -- heavy synth beats backing a vocal style that's part talk, part singing -- is generally a love-it or hate-it proposition. Those on the former side of the fence will fall head over heels for " Blah Blah Blah," which combines Ke$ha's style with that of her male alter egos, the krunk duo 3OH!3. Though the high pitch and auto tune can be slightly grating sometimes, the overall result is an eminently danceable tune that will receive plenty of spins in the clubs.
